Sheffield Roof-Terrace Waterproofing
The Toucan team have recently finished work on a roof-terrace balcony at Regent’s Court in the Hillsborough district of Sheffield.
The surface, above a plant room, required a full waterproofing to protect the parts below it. The first element of work undertaken on the roof was to add a new drainage system to allow water a purpose built path away from the flat surface. Water gathering had been identified as a cause of the previous problems found with the area. New drainage holes were added to the floor surface with a mechanism of piping taken from this to draw water out of the building.
These drains were then sealed at the top by the addition of a new grit based anti-slip surface to offer maximum stability to users in all weather conditions.
