Ventilation / Condensation Control
It affects both old and new buildings, but it appears to be a significant problem where the building has been modernised. It is also directly associated with mould growth, which is what the occupier sees first – this gives an indication of the potential scale of the problem.
After the introduction of energy saving measures such as draught proofing, double glazing and cavity wall insulation there is no natural escape route for this stale, humid air, which is now trapped inside the home. As a result, this trapped and stale air only makes the problem worse, causing condensation on windows, walls and poor indoor air quality.
Improve ventilation – Toucan will sweep away the internal moisture-laden air and replace it with drier air from the outside – PIV unit mechanical units which draw fresh air in from outside, heat the air and then gently pump it into the property with the effect of raising the air pressure inside the building, forcing the stale/moist air out through any natural ventilation. Mechanical ventilation should be considered to alleviate the condensation and humidity issues
